Hello,

My name is Tirza, and I may be the tutor for you!

I recently graduated from Northwest University with a master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship. Before that, I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Music, Youth Ministry, and Biblical Studies. I have worked at the Academic Success and Advising Center at Northwest University for six years. That experience allowed me to learn about becoming a successful student and about tutoring. As part of my work there, I tutored students in Music. I also have experience tutoring and giving feedback on student's writing. I wrote a master's thesis as part of my graduate program, so I have a lot of experience writing and editing. A learner at heart, I enjoy studying about history and behavioral science in addition to my majors. In high school, I completed the full IB Diploma program. I understand the expectations and challenges involved in the IB Diploma program; I also have a clear understanding of skills students need to be successful in the program. I have experience with students of all ages, including experience with students requiring accommodations and students with English as a second (or third) language.

My approach to teaching is best described as "hands-on," where there are a lot of discussion and interaction between student and tutor. I am keen on catering to the learning style of each student's unique learning style.

I graduated from high school, college, and graduate school with high GPAs; I think that gives a good foundation on my personal study skills. Bible Studies

One of my majors in my undergraduate studies is Biblical Studies. I have good knowledge of Old Testament and New Testament books, including their history and important elements. I have also taken a more focused approach to the Pentateuch, Synoptic Gospels, Corinthians, Pastoral Letters, and Psalms. I also have studied Systematic Theology and theology of practical ministry.

Indonesian

Most of my experience with the Indonesian language was outside of the classroom. I was born and raised in Indonesia. My parents are Indonesian, and so the Indonesian language is my first language. In addition to that, I have taken courses in Indonesian literature. My academic aspirations include getting a Ph.D in Comparative Literature, so I have continued to study Indonesian literature.
