I have 15 years of teaching experience at the secondary AND collegiate level, so I know how to prepare students at the grade they are at as well as for their future. Statistics is a personal favorite, and specialty of mine, but I have taught algebra and geometry more than any other subjects. I am passionate about math and education so I attend more professional development opportunities than anyone else in the state. I am known for infusing lessons with: humor, cultural and historical connections, and real-life applications. Math SHOULD be the easiest subject to learn, but I am unfortunately all too aware of how difficult some of the books, teachers, and schools out there make it for their students. No matter who I have worked with, I have always had success building the attitude and aptitude of my pupils. In other words, they gain confidence and competence in their procedural skills and conceptual understanding while having fun doing so. I look forward to helping as many students as possible reach their full potential.
