Greetings Students! My name is Cheryl, and I recently obtained my doctoral degree in psychology so can relate to the long and tedious journey of being a student. My area of specialty spans the entire field of psychology, ranging from introduction to psychology, biopsychology, neuropsychology, social psychology, abnormal psychology, statistical or research methods in psychology, and everything in between. Whether you are an undergraduate student seeking help in writing research papers or sifting through the information, or a graduate student working on a thesis or dissertation, I am here to help.
I offer a range of services pertinent to any psychology class you are taking and will develop individual lesson plans that utilize various methods in learning. Since everyone learns at different paces and in different ways, methods may include visual, audio, oral, or written plans. I have been teaching undergraduate psychology classes for nearly 4 years now and have found that a variety of methods inspire students to critically analyze and synthesize the course materials, especially when applying various concepts to real-life examples or professional experience that can be carried forth into the work environment.
Learning APA style is also another service that is strongly emphasized in my tutoring methods, especially for graduate students in the field of psychology. I have found that APA style is one of the things students struggle with the most. I have served as an editorial board member with two peer-reviewed scholarly journals for several years now, and have published extensively in my field of expertise, so I have quite a few valuable lesson plans to help students develop APA skills.
