I have always had a passion for the natural world around me and have a natural gift for teaching others about this incredible world we live in. I have taught biology, ecology, and environmental science in both formal and informal settings including tutoring, a high school classroom, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and substitute teaching. I am an excellent teacher because I teach from a passion for the subject, not just a passion for teaching. Since I am a hands-on learner, I am a hand-on teacher as much as I am able. One of my greatest achievements while teaching High School science was to adjust the curriculum to allow for a variety of learning styles. Students who struggled with the traditional academia were able to bring their grades up to a level they could be proud of. There are many learning styles yet many classrooms cater to only one style. As your tutor, I will strive to help you grasp the subject in a manner that is consistent with your learning style and bring a little fun into the journey.
