I have tutored math for over 3 years. I am happy to help with many different math classes, from Elementary math to Calculus.
I have helped my former classmates and my younger brother many times with Physics.
I have been learning French for more than 6 years.
I can also help with programming. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and in Computer Engineering at UW in Tacoma. My primary programming language is currently Java.
Regardless of the subject, I would say I am effective at recognizing patterns. I love sharing any shortcuts or tips that I discover. I have tutored math for over 3 years. I am happy to help with many different math classes, from Elementary math to Calculus.

My son was very reluctant to utilize a tutor as he sees it as a weakness. He clicked with Andrew right away and has been working with Andrew about once a week. My son feels way more confident in pre-calculus and his test scores have improved. Andrew has been a great first time tutor for my son. Andrew is very responsive to e-mails about setting up sessions. I recommend Andrew to anyone.
The kids have only had one lesson so far, but the lesson seemed to go very well. Andrew seems to be very observant and knowledgeable. He emailed us right back and was right on time for our lesson.
I was very fearful about the math lesson with my oldest son for many different reasons, but both my boys liked Andrew a lot. The confidence I already see in my boys from just one lesson is worth every penny, so we thank WyzAnt and Andrew for helping make this happen!
My no longer has "math panic attacks" thanks to you, Andrew. He is understanding the material better. We still have a ways to go, but when he shut down before, there was no reaching him.
Andrew has been patient and kind to teach me programming concepts. Although I am new to programming, I found myself in an accelerated course, therefore needed to learn beginner and advanced concepts at the same time. Andrew's approach was consistent. I set the agenda with the progressive pace of my class and left each tutoring session with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts we discussed. I learned more from Andrew than I learned from my UW Java instructor. He explains concepts in a way that is so well understood that I can easily apply what I have learned. Andrew is the best Java tutor ever!
Tutoring session got off to a slow start but once we narrowed it down to one specific thing, the J unit testing, we were able to move along smoothly. We did go a little over our time and he took the fact that we started off slow into consideration. Very considerate and helpful. I would definitely use him again seeing that he is very knowledge of Java and classes I will be taking in the future.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
