Working with children of all ages has always been one of my top strengths and it keeps my mind active, searching for new connections. I usually learn something new or create an enhanced thought pattern when teaching someone else and this is important to me since I strive for constant expansion.
I grew up as the oldest child and have been essentially the male guardian to my 14 year old sister. Before the age of 2, she was able (among other skills) to say the alphabet backward in less than 10 seconds and could perform a few self defense moves. That isn't a highlight of my favorite subjects, simply an example of the variety of areas I can teach. I have extensively taught all my siblings in numerous classes as well as several of my nieces/nephews and the occasionally temporary tutoring job with kids and adults.
Children and animals love me. I've babysat countless times for my siblings and their friends. My sister's friend's parents trust me to watch over their children. I've been in charge of groups of kids during field trips, sports teams, have organized games for them, tutored...etc. etc.
I have been a Teachers Aide, a Library Aide, a coach, a guest speaker of psychology and philosophy, an umpire, etc., so have an enormous amount of experience teaching both kids and adults as well as keeping children on task. I have created resumes for ESL adults and assisted them in writing cover letters.
I am an excellent coach and believe that is my absolute strongest skill. Teaching is quite similar to coaching so isn't too far behind.
I always feel enriched when I teach someone something new and witness them apply their new knowledge, especially children. At times when others would lose patience, I just smile even more knowing I have the capability to view struggles in an optimistic light and enjoy challenging myself to discover a way to get through to the specific individual.
Each fully functioning human has the innate desire to learn. The motivation is already there. It's just that other stimuli/emotional upsetness/imbalance of nutrients/lack of exercise/etc. can interfere with this. Each child wants to learn, you simply have to provide the fodder for the wanted consternation by relating the task to something in which they identify. Once there is an established dynamic and rhythm, the people I have taught become interested in my analogies/relations and start learning at an accelerated pace.
I am completely comfortable and quite capable of accomplishing tasks in an efficient, precise, calm and timely manner. I am an expert organizer and profoundly meticulous and can incorporate these traits into your required curriculum. I am a quick and proficient learner and can adapt to most situations well and stay patient and optimistic during situations in which most would lose their cool.
Thank you for reading and if you choose me to assist you in one of the areas in which I'm familiar, you will not be disappointed.
