I am an experienced test prep tutor who has worked for three major tutoring companies. I continue to work for a premier tutoring company in the area, so I am knowledgeable of changes in the SAT and ACT and current on the latest techniques for improving scores. I teach techniques that work to enable students to reach their SAT or ACT goal score. All test prep students have the option to take a practice test (or multiple practice tests) which I will grade and analyze to determine where the student needs the most help. Test prep sessions are individualized and customized for each student and often much less expensive than studying through a test preparation company.

In addition to tutoring test prep, I am also available to tutor a variety of subjects. As a former teacher, I have experience working with students of all ages. I am excellent at teaching Math to those who hate it. I disliked math and I know how to teach methods to make it easier. I am available to tutor grade school math, pre-algebra, geometry, algebra and algebra II. I am great with English language and literature at all levels. I can provide assistance with all aspects of writing, from composing a research paper to editing college admission essays.

If you are outside of my travel area, or if you prefer to learn online, I now offer online tutoring. Tutoring sessions take place through an online platform that allows me to transfer files, assess homework and communicate directly with the student. I will help you with the technology aspect without charging for the time and I offer free e-mail support.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Science

Despite the name, the Science portion of the ACT Science test does NOT actually contain Science. I am an expert at teaching techniques for managing this portion of the ACT and routinely see huge score improvements.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a BA is Education and was certified in the state of Wisconsin to teach preK-12th grade. I taught several grades, including K, 1, 2, 3 and 4, at a K-12 bilingual school. I also tutored special needs elementary students while attending college.

GED

Whether you need help with all portions of the GED or only a subject, I can help your prepare. I provide comprehensive and individualized GED tutoring that will ensure you pass.

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is the foundation for all upper level math and as such it is incredibly important for a student to fully understand prealgebra concepts. I enjoy helping students who "hate math" gain better understanding and I teach techniques meant to foster a stable foundation for future math.
