I am a certified teacher with 20+ years of experience with all grade levels Pre-K-5th. I am very qualified to tutor your elementary aged child in any academic subject area. I have an extensive knowledge of the states expectations as well as how children develop and grow as readers, writers, and mathematicians. You and your child will find me very patient, relaxed, easy going, and a caring person. I enjoy watching children learn new things, finally understanding what they have been struggling with and realize learning can be an enjoyable experience. Phonics

I am a Kindergarten teacher and have been teaching students how to read through a phonics program for the last 7 years. Before I taught in Kindergarten, I taught first and second grade and continued to teach reading through phonics. I believe phonics is a very important strategy to reading. I believe they need to know phonics before they can sound out words that they do not know.

ESL/ESOL

I have been trained by my school district to teach OWE and GLAD curriculum. I teach Kindergarten with an average of 10 ELL students every year. My district no longer provides Kindergarten teachers ELL support so we are required to teach it to our students ourselves. I have gone through 2 years of extensive training in ELL learning.
