Having grown up in Skamania, Washington, I am a Northwest gal. But I have also lived in other places. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Communications and TESOL from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. Following my graduation, I spent three years in Taiwan teaching English to pre-school through 6th-grade age students, mostly. I also tutored one Junior High student and a graduate school student trying to improve her English. Therefore, my teaching experience comes primarily from teaching English to Taiwanese students whose native language was Mandarin Chinese or Taiwanese. Because of that, I understand some Mandarin and can speak a little of it, as well. I also understand and can speak a little Spanish. I also know a little French. Language, especially English, is clearly my area of strength. I also can help with writing or study habits, generally. In addition to these subjects, I am familiar with the Social Sciences and I also enjoy History and Geography. I will charge a modest rate and am willing to do all that I can to help you or your child master the material.
