Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I hold a B.S. in Electronics Management and an Ed.D in Leadership and Management. My focus is on helping students in Management or Organizational Leadership (OL) classes. I have taught business management and project management classes at the post-secondary level for over 10 years. My business experience includes 21 years active duty military service, 4 years as a Department Chair for a college, 6 years on the Board of Directors for a not-for-profit company and a small business owner for the past 9 years (two different successful businesses).

Discrete Math

Discrete mathematics is a blend of many different elements of logic, combinatorics and graph theory. I hold a Master's in Math Education and have coached many students through various Discrete math courses. Let me help you reduce your math anxiety.

Electrical Engineering

I am the Chair of the Electronics department at a technical college and have over 20 years experience in electronics. I teach all electronics classes in my department and tutor students weekly (mainly in mathematics).

Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra is widely used in electrical and mechanical engineering. Whether you are dealing with elementary linear algebra, simple analysis or complex analysis, you need a math coach that can help you identify your skill gaps in order to excel in one of these classes. I have a Master's in Math Education and have over 7 years experience teaching (and using) linear algebra.

Logic

Understanding computer and engineering logic is no problem when you have a math coach that can help you identify your skill gaps and help you excel in any area. Whether it be truth tables, Boolean algebra, or logic gates that are causing anxiety, let a professional coach help you.

Statistics

I've taught Statistics at Lightworks Institute and ITT Tech in Everett. I have also been coaching Statistics for over 7 years and have a unique ability to blend knowledge and humor into my teaching style. Descriptive and Inferential statistics can be understood by most students, with the right teacher and the right motivation. Are you motivated to learn?

Word problem (answer)

Hi Kenzie,   If you are still looking for the answer to this problem, you will need to use the exponential growth formula for compounding interest: A = Pert. I hope that helps you.

Hi Sally,   I agree with Mark, except that the a = the leading coefficient (not the learning coefficient).  Did that make sense to you?

Good teaching with a great personality. — I gotta say that I was very skeptical about hiring somebody off the internet as a tutor and specially to help me with a subject as hard as Calculus. I am happy to say that Steve was very professional and had a contagious "can-do" attitude. I appreciated his personality because it made me feel at ease almost immediately and I was able to concentrate in learning. There are tutors out there who de ...
