I'm a college senior studying to be a professional writer and seeking to help others in mainly English studies. I have excelled in English since I was four years old and learning to read. I read and write as a pastime, so I've had a lot of practice recognizing vocabulary, spelling, and correct sentence structure. In high school, I wrote for the school newspaper and produced some of the best-written pieces of that term. I was also inducted into the National Honor Society, nominated by a few of my teachers. I took as many English classes as I had time for so as to expand my knowledge of literature and prose.
In 2009, I published a book of short horror stories for pre-teens which I wrote in high school. I have started writing several books since then and am very close to finishing a romance novella. I have had work published in an anthology and my former writing club's magazine. In college, I declared an English major with a Writing Specialization, and as a result have taken many reading and writing classes that span poetry, non-fiction, and fiction, in all forms. In spring of 2010, I took a grammar class that helped me understand grammar rules I had only taken for granted before. I feel that I'm well-qualified to help any student with proofreading, understanding grammar rules, or rewording their writing for cohesion and clarity.
Furthermore, I worked as a writing tutor in the Learning Commons at Central Washington University for about nine months, ending with my graduation in July of 2012. From January to June of 2012, I worked as a copy editor and then copy desk chief for the school newspaper.
