Whether you are college-bound, in college, or tackling the "real world" already, writing well is one of the most lucrative skills you can ever develop!
Students or employees who can write clearly, purposefully, and persuasively set themselves at noticeable distances from others in their field. This truth pervades all fields. From business to science, people who write well are able to represent themselves and their ideas well on paper and in the digital world. As effective communicators, they get higher grades and better promotions. To be an effective communicator in an Information Age so incredibly steeped in the digital world of words, you must be able to express yourself with words that can stand alone.
In other words, you must be able to write well without the aide of your physical presence. Your words must stand alone from any charisma, vocal tone, verbal communication, and body language that could make up for poor or average writing skills.
Ironically, in the Information Age we find ourselves in, so much writing is poorly done. It is unfocused. It is full of incorrect or unnecessary words. Quite simply, it fails to effectively represent what the author seeks to convey. If the audience of a writer--whether they are teachers, bosses, or customers--cannot understand the intended ideas behind the written words, then the writing is pointless and has failed.
I can help you avoid this pitfall of poor writing, which can be detrimental to your grades as a student or earning potential as an employee.
How can I help?
I can teach you to write with eloquence and simplicity. I call it, "eloquently simple writing."
In other words, I can teach you to write with a grace that makes your words memorable. I can teach you to use written words with a clarity that effectively encapsulate your ideas. Eloquent things are memorable and thus persuasive. Simple things are persuasive because they are easily grasped. Persuasion then, through eloquently simple writing, opens doors to better grades and more lucrative job opportunities.
Like it or not, we are a consumerist culture. We must sell our ideas. We must convince people to "buy" our ideas if we are to reach our goals. Having the skill to write with eloquent simplicity is a crucial tool toward selling your ideas and accomplishing your dreams.
I have learned to write well. As you've been reading, I hope you agree. Learning how to write with eloquent simplicity helped me to achieve summa cum laude distinction with my bachelor's degree. Such writing has resulted in otherwise elusive job openings and work-related accolades. Moreover, such writing has profoundly improved my ability as a public speaker, a key skill I rely on in my primary profession. In other words, writing well has been invaluable.
During our tutoring sessions, we will often use current examples of your own writing. I will show you how to edit your words and punctuation into those two gold standards I've been speaking of: eloquence and simplicity. I will teach you how to ask questions of your audience that lead to more effective writing. Throughout the process I will help you become more aware of your individual "voice" as a writer, and this awareness will produce wonderful results in your growing skill as a writer. Not only will you receive better grades or job-related compliments, your self-esteem will rise as you grow in the confidence that eloquently simple writing brings.
So what do you think?
I trust, after just one session, this type of writing will grab you and you'll want to learn more!
