As a former Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist, I have experience assessing, working with and implementing educational and treatment plans for children with ADD/ADHD. I also have experience teaching students at the college level with ADD/ADHD. Additionally, I am a former Regional Policy Council member as well as board member and past president of the Family Network on Disabilities, a non-profit organization engaging in education and advocacy for children and families of children with disabilities.

Anthropology

I have a B.S. and M.A. and Doctoral Candidacy. I have considerable experience teaching courses at the collegiate level and have been heavily trained in the social sciences in which anthropology is included.

Archaeology

I have a B.S. and M.A. and Doctoral Candidacy as well as considerable experience teaching at the university level. Furthermore, during my graduate work, I acted as a Graduate Teaching Assistant to faculty teaching Archeology. I prepared and am familiar with the course work and content for field work and Biblical archeology.

Aspergers

I also have experience teaching students at the college level with Aspbergers. Autism

Bible Studies

I have a Masters degree in Religious Studies from the University of South Florida and considerable experience teaching Religious Studies at the college level.

Classics

I have a B.S., M.A., and am currently a Doctoral Candidate with considerable teaching experience that includes the area of Classics. My academic training included the Classics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Furthermore, when teaching at the undergraduate college level, my course content relied upon the Classics, particularly in relation to rhetoric, religion, and philosophy.

College Counseling

As a university instructor, I have significant experience and thoroughly enjoy advising and counseling college students. I have experience working with students with varying learning abilities and social, emotional, developmental, and academic backgrounds.

Dyslexia

As a former Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist, I have experience assessing, working with and implementing educational and treatment plans for children with dyslexia. I also have experience teaching students at the college level with dyslexia. Additionally, I am a former Regional Policy Council member as well as board member and past president of the Family Network on Disabilities, a non-profit organization engaging in education and advocacy for children and families of children with disabilities.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a highly qualified educator (B.S., M.A., and Doctoral Candidacy) with years of experience working with children of all ages. Additionally, I am a former Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist and have experience with developmental assessment and individualized educational plans. Flexibility, creativity, and ability to accommodate multiple learning styles are a hallmark of my teaching philosophy. I enjoy working with children, can implement and adjust elementary curriculum with ease, and welcome students of varying ages, learning abilities, and needs.

Hard Of Hearing

As a former Infant and Toddler Developmental Specialist, I have experience assessing, working with and implementing educational and treatment plans for children who are hard of hearing or require sign language to communicate. I also have experience teaching sign language to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten children and students at the college level who are hard of hearing. I have an M.A. degree in Religious Studies from the University of South Florida and considerable experience teaching Religious Studies at the college level.

Social Studies

I currently hold a B.S. and M.A. and have experience teaching children of all ages. My teaching experience includes curriculum focusing on Humanities, History, and Social Studies. I am comfortable teaching this subject for students with varying ages and abilities.

Sociology

I hold an undergraduate degree in Sociology and graduate level degrees in social sciences. I have considerable experience and enjoy teaching social sciences at the university level.

I have worked with students at great length on note and test taking skills as well as organization. In addition, I have experience modifying curriculum and tailoring study skills to students with varying ages, needs and abilities.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
