I am passionate about instructing middle and high school students in history, economics, civics, geography, culture, and sociological phenomenon. Belief in using both text and non-text based resources to examine and analyze social science related events. Passionate about using cooperative learning in order to interact with the social science areas. Firmly believes that learning can occur in many places, in a variety of forms and serves more than one purpose.
In conjunction with the YMCA Youth and Government: Youth Legislature Program, taught teens in Whatcom County the bill writing, debate and team building skills. Instructed teens in specific debate skills, writing processes and civic leadership through a mock legislative program; took teens (8th-12th grades) to Olympia for four days and other program events.
