Hi. My name is Gail. I have been teaching Spanish to all ages for 9 years. I am enthusiastic about teaching in general, but really enjoy teaching this language. In addition, I have been an essay writing tutor, amongst various other subjects at the college level for the past 4 years. I am accustomed to working with students in person, or online. I have recently earned my BA in education with special education as my major. I currently work for Skagit Valley College to fulfill their obligation of hours to the Western Consortium at etutoring.org where I work 4 days a week online providing feedback on essay writing.
My methodology with tutoring is to teach students how to find the answers they need to be successful. I also provide the correct manner in which to do something, but like to lean more towards students helping themselves then depending on me for answers. By all means, I do this before the point of frustration. I believe we all learn best by knowing how to find the answers.
I look forward to tutoring with you soon, in person or online.
I have a BA in education. My practicum exposure was in a 4th, and 5th grade classroom. My internship was in a split level 3rd and 4th grade classroom. In addition, I have 9 years of experience in teaching Spanish to grades k-6, and some 7-10 grades.
I have developed my own, and followed "Every Day Math" school curriculum. I teach through modeling and examples before releasing responsibility to the student. After realizing your mathematical potential, I am sure you will be motivated to continue using your reasoning skills while applying some really effective strategies to problem solve.
I am looking forward to helping you with math.
My experience in teaching and tutoring Spanish comes from studying and earning college credits, along with spending time as an exchange student in Mexico, and visiting Madrid, Spain for 2 months. I have 9 years of experience teaching grades k-10, depending on the student count each year, for Stanwood Camano School District's parent partnership school, and 1 year for grades 3-4 in the Marysville School District's MCEP school. I have tutored for Skagit Valley College in the TRIO department with students that received recommendations from their Spanish instructors.
I also tutor Spanish online through email with an offer to summarize all misunderstandings by telephone with multiple sessions equivalent or a bit extra to the hour spent in person.
I presently work for a college tutoring students online. Previously, I worked one to one with students for this college on various subjects including study skills. Also, in my practicum, while earning my BA in education, I taught study skills to grades 3 through 5 in various subjects.
