Salam!
My name is Shima and I am a native Persian (Farsi) speaker. I was born and raised in Iran and completed my undergraduate education in the United States. I have been teaching Persian (Farsi) for 3+ years. I served as the Persian tutor at the UW tutoring center for two years where I worked one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate students studying the language. I also teach Persian at Seattle Languages International and the Washington Academy of Languages, in addition to other private students. Overall I have a solid background and experience in teaching and would love to share Persian language and culture with passionate and driven individuals!
I have taught many students at various levels, from absolute beginner learning the alphabet, to more advanced students honing their reading and conversational skills. I work one-on-one with every student and develop individualized lesson plans that best serve each person. I typically use a wide variety of resources for teaching such as books, articles, listening and online material, and believe that learning both Written and Spoken Persian is essential to gaining a true familiarity and expertise with the language.
