I am a Washington State certified math and physics teacher with over 14 years of experience in one-on-one teaching of Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Social Sciences at Chrysalis, a private high school in Woodinville. I retired in June of 2011 and started tutoring with WyzAnt almost immediately. I had also informally tutored other classmates while in high school, college, and worked as a United Way volunteer, tutoring students in Texas.

I have worked teaching high school students (math, physics, and some chemistry) on a one-on-one basis at Chrysalis high school from 1997 to 2011. I have also tutored college students. I have been successful in teaching/tutoring all ages of students in math and science. As a United Way volunteer I tutored grade school students who were temporary wards of the state.
I always have great rapport with my students; I try to make learning fun, show students practical or even humorous ways to think of or remember mathematical principles, not just rote memorization of formulas. I emphasize students understanding the math, not just memorizing or punching buttons on a calculator. I show them the flexibility within various math procedures to make problems easier to do, less time consuming, easier to remember, and more accurate.
On a personal note, I am an avid Mariners/Seahawks fan! Felix...perfect! Seahawks...NFL Champions!!! Students who are fans are preferred!
