I am a certified elementary teacher located in Black Diamond, Washington with a master's degree in Elementary Education. I have teaching experience at various elementary grade levels and currently teach a combination class of 5th and 6th grade students. My philosophy of teaching revolves around the concept that all children have the ability to succeed; it is up to the teacher to convince them of that, and to give them the tools to make it happen!
In my interaction with students, many enter the classroom at the beginning of the year dreading another school year of "not meeting expectations." My greatest joy is to watch a student with little confidence and great frustration develop into a highly confident learner who is filled with enthusiasm for learning! I truly believe with the correct support and encouragement, students who have "given up" can regain their momentum in and excitement for learning.
