Hello -- my name is Audrey Q.! I am interested in coaching people that want to increase or improve their financial and managerial accounting knowledge, computer skills, set up a business or nonprofit organization, or learn QuickBooks. I can tutor college students and adults.
Qualifications: I hold a MBA degree with specializations in accounting and finance from the University of Southern California's (USC) Marshall School of Business. I also hold a bachelor degree in business administration from the University of Ghana's Business School. I have CPA and CFA certifications that are currently inactive.
Experience: At USC I was a teaching assistant for two professors and tutored undergraduate students in statistics and management science. The students that I helped at USC graduated and moved on to successful careers. At the University of Ghana, I was a full-time teaching assistant. I tutored a final year class of students in auditing using a case study approach. I also taught a second year Hospital Accounting class that emphasized cost accounting. All of my students graduated and have been successful in their careers. I also have more than 20 years experience in the auditing, government, project management, fixed income, mutual fund, and financial services industry.
Financial and Cost/Managerial accounting: I can tutor beginner and intermediate students in financial and cost/managerial accounting. I emphasize the fundamentals before moving on to more advanced topics. I have strong research skills which I will deploy where necessary to ensure that my students have up to date knowledge. I will also use real life examples from business, industry and SEC reports to reinforce knowledge of various topics.
QuickBooks: I have experience with QuickBooks. I set up an online QuickBooks accounting system for a start-up client and maintained the client's financial records. I can teach a client the fundamentals of financial accounting, help the client to set up a QuickBooks accounting system for a business or nonprofit organization, and teach the client to maintain the system on an ongoing basis and generate financial statements for making decisions.
Financial Analysis: I also have experience with financial analysis. I helped a client to generate financial projections and successfully apply for a grant. I can teach a client to use a spreadsheet to create financial projections for a business or nonprofit organization for purposes of applying for a grant or small business loan.
Computer Skills: Finally, I have advanced computer skills and experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I can teach a client or both young or older students to use these computer tools for business or education purposes.
