Ciao a tutti ! Hello everybody!
My name is Lia and I moved from Rome in 1993, following my new husband to Chicago.
I started to teach/tutor right away either students of the University of Chicago or regular people in other Language Schools. My students were adults, kids, teenagers, businessmen, travelers, opera lovers, College/University Professors, just anybody with any type of backgrounds, interests, age.
With my twenty-year experience I can understand what each single student needs to start this wonderful adventure or improve his already established knowledge.
I also strongly believe that my work is not done if I don't help my students to embrace and immerse themselves in my Country and this is the reason why I will not only teach you how to speak, read, write in Italian but I will introduce you to its History, Culture, Arts, Foods, Social Life. I love to cook and I also had a lot of fun giving cooking lessons to my students.
I worked for the Italian Cultural Institute and its Language School in Chicago and many other Language Schools and thanks to that I met very interesting people, among them some Opera singers from the Opera Theater in Chicago, College/University Professors. Most of my 'old' friends are my ex-students. A couple of them have found a job, got married and live in Italy.
I hope I was able to transmit to you my passion for my job, my love for my Country, my will of working with you in a very simple, funny and personalized way.
I hope to hear from you soon and in the meantime
