Science doesn't have to be frustrating! And neither does Spanish. I was lucky to have great science teachers in high school and college that made concepts simple. I try to do the same for my 9th graders every day and I would love to try to do the same for you.
Spanish is another topic that I believe can be simple. My mother is Mexican. I took Spanish through high school and college and found that if you treat language like a math formula, it becomes easy.
In the past I have tutored both high school students and college students, focusing on chemistry and Spanish. Typically, students and I have spent our time together going through assignments they have been struggling with to identify the root of the confusion and talk it out until the rest makes sense. Now I teach 9th grade Physical Science in Bridgeport and we try to do the same every day in class.
On a personal note, I graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 2010 and immediately moved to Connecticut to participate in the Teach For American program that places high achieving college graduates in under-served public schools to teach their hearts out for two years. I am in my second year teaching at Harding High School in Bridgeport and absolutely love it.
