I would like to tutor students in the areas of Art, Painting and Drawing, English, Grammar, Creative Writing, History, Art History. I have an Art Degree with teaching certification from Pacific Lutheran University. I worked 6 years as a substitute teacher in all types of classes, K12. I currently teach art classes in several settings in the area. I am a working artist, with both teaching and exhibiting experience. I also have had extensive experience teaching creative writing, and also write historical novels.

Drawing

I have been drawing all my life. In college I took drawing every quarter the first two years, and drawing was a part of all my art courses. I keep an active sketch book, and do preliminary drawings for most of my final artworks.
I teach several art classes and integrate drawing lessons into all of my art assignments. I consider drawing to be and essential part of the art experience.

Painting

Painting is my primary occupation. My college degree included continuous study from several of the best teachers. I have painted and studied painting for over 45 years. In teaching painting, I consider all the design concepts, such as color, value, repetition, line, space, form, draftsmanship and abstract quality as important issues for students to understand.
