I recently graduated from Oberlin College with a B.A. in biology. Although I am most proficient in the areas of biology and chemistry, I also took extensive coursework in music, language, and history while at Oberlin. I have had experience teaching in a variety of venues, while in college as well as in high school. I taught private instrumental lessons to two middle school French horn players (each one for a year) when I was a high schooler. I was a counselor-in-training one summer at an arts camp, where I assisted the professional teachers in my workshop instruct students in baroque performance. After high school, I also tutored a young, mildly-handicapped high school student in music theory and several college students in biology. Finally, I have conducted three literature groups for middle schoolers over the years, one of which centered around a book that was tailored for a young reading level while the other two delved into a novel intended for a much older audience. I also enjoyed being a "special teacher" of Latin for three weeks as part of a middle school communications unit, where I had the opportunity to try out teaching at the front of a classroom.
