I help young learners, K- 8, with all aspects of the curriculum. I have particular experience teaching phonics based language skills to students struggling to read fluently. It is critical that young children have an experience of school that is positive, and not one defined by frustration. Yet school can certainly be a frustrating experience for many of us, especially boys. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a “Bad” student. I know that we all wish to succeed and that given the proper support and a curriculum that is appropriate, all students can experience success.
While my academic focus is on reading and writing, I also have experience navigating the Special Education maze and can help parents with this process. I have a Master’s Degree in Counseling and extensive experience counseling children. Freeing up one’s emotional energy can oftentimes be an important component in achieving academic success. Contact me and we can begin to help your child feel more prepared and confident entering school each morning.
