I have worked with children for over 15 years in various schools, day care centers and other programs. I have done coursework towards a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Goddard College. I also attended the Audubon Expedition Institute for one year.
My interests are in nature education, multiple intelligences and tailoring education to the needs and styles of the learner(s). I consider myself to be more of a "learning facilitator" rather than a conventional teacher or tutor: I believe lecture is the least effective method of teaching and learning must be student centered for best retention. Ultimately, I believe my purpose is to help students become active lifelong self-learners.
