Steve G. received his BS in electrical engineering from Montana State University and his Master's from Utah State University in environmental engineering. Steve recently moved from Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest and now resides in the Washington DC area. In his professional career Steve has worked on a variety of programs from groundbreaking handheld software programming to cleaning up superfund sites for the EPA. Steve discovered his teaching and mentoring skills in college and has continued to work with youth to assist them in getting all they can out of their education and hopefully projecting that positive attitude and self esteem into all aspects of their lives. He especially enjoyed tutoring his sons to foster their interests in math, science, and sports; his goal is to make tutoring fun and interesting. A firm belief of Steve's is that there is more than one way to teach a student and he can customize his teaching methods to fit a particular person. Steve loves to hear about progress from his students and has recently had one student double their SAT math score after being tutored - a very rewarding surprise on his part. In his spare time, Steve enjoys hiking in the mountains, kayaking, and keeping up on fascinating trivia and facts. You never know when it will come in handy!
