Hello, potential students and parents. I am interested in tutoring you/your children in any number of subjects. Here's a little bit about me and my educational experiences.
I have just returned this September to the United States from living for a year and a half in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was teaching English as a Second Language to men and women in various businesses all over the city. In order to get certified to do that, I had to take a one month intensive course in English language and grammar, in which I received the highest mark possible. I also managed to take four months of Spanish classes and would grade myself between Intermediate and Advanced level.
I attended graduate school at San Diego State University, where I studied History. I was unable to finish at the time but am working on figuring out how to get my Master's degree. While at SDSU, I studied history and took Latin and French as foreign languages. I took Latin for two years, including Latin Prose and Latin Poetry classes, and I took French classes for three semesters.
I attended undergraduate school at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where I studied History. While at Cal Poly, I took two years of German to fulfill my foreign language requirement.
I have excellent GRE and SAT scores as well, and am currently working on retaking the SAT so that I can tutor students on how to get good scores.
I have excellent reading, writing, and proofreading skills and am fairly competent with computers.
My tutoring method is to try and make learning as fun as possible. I know what it's like to suffer through a dry subject and, to me, making a subject fun makes it a lot easier to learn. I am very patient and am good at making complicated topics and themes simple and understandable. I have a well-rounded education and I am a good teacher and I would make an excellent tutor for you/your child.
