If you are just starting to learn Japanese and need detailed explanation in English, I can help! I spent a half of my life in Japan and the other half in the US. My native language is Japanese, so I can help you with proper pronunciation and intonation in Japanese. If you want to get to know Japanese culture, I can explain in English as well.
I helped Japanese 101 and 102 level students as a Teaching Assistant(TA) for 3 quarters at the University of Georgia. I also helped graduate school students as a tutor off campus for one year. I introduced Japanese culture through demonstration and presentation in a high school class and some gifted children classes at elementary school.
I have many beginner-level Japanese books for students to read, including picture books and story books. I can help you with getting started with Japanese with explaining in English, first. I can help you with writing Japanese characters (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji) or composition. I can have lessons with improving conversational skills only, too. I usually ask which areas of Japanese a student wants to improve and what is a goal. Accordingly I plan lessons and with student's approval, we work on the area.
