Cheerful, professional 24-year-old with previous teaching/tutoring experience. I have tutored in research and essay-writing skills, and I have taught ESL classes in Japan to both children and adults. American History

I tutor in American History for K-12 and undergraduate levels, focusing less on facts than on reading, research, analysis, and writing skills. Tutoring for the AP US History exam is a particular strength.

Vocabulary

I tutor in K-12 vocabulary and spelling, including tactics for arriving at an approximate definition of unknown words using context, roots, and other tactics.

Grammar

I tutor in K-12 and undergraduate English grammar, proofreading, and spelling.

European History

I tutor in K-12 European History, focusing less on facts and more on reading, research, analysis, and writing tactics. I also tutor in undergraduate research and writing tactics for history essays.

English

I can tutor in K-12 and undergaduate English. My specialty is in teaching essay-writing (all subjects), but I also can tutor grammar, vocabulary, spelling, creative writing, and literature.

Literature

I tutor in middle school, high school, and undergraduate literary analysis. This includes tactics for reading; basic analysis of characters, plots, themes, etc.; and in depth written analysis of various literary aspects.

Proofreading

I am both an experienced proofreading and also tutor in proofreading skills that will enhance the student's ability to proofread their own work in the future.

ESL/ESOL

I planned and taught daily ESL classes in Gunma, Japan for one year. My classes ranged from one-on-one sessions to small groups to nearly 20 students. The ages of my students ranged from 3 to 81-years old, and everywhere in between.
