I am a recent (2012) Biology/Pre-Med undergraduate from Old Dominion University. I plan on becoming a physician assistant, and am in the process of applying for my Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.
I have been tutoring, both privately and publicly, for almost 4 years. I have a multitude of tutoring experience, especially in college-level biological sciences. Some of the specific courses I have tutored in include: AP Biology/College-level Intro Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Genetics, Ecology, Evolution, and Basic Human Biology. I am currently a part-time K-12 tutor and work with multiple students on reading, writing, vocabulary, and math skills. I have also taken the SAT twice and the ACT once, and have continuing experience tutoring SAT/ACT math, and ACT science. I have also taken the GRE with success and can help with study and test strategies. I was in the 64th percentile in verbal, the 75th percentile in quantitative analysis (math), and the 93rd percentile in analytical writing.
I love working with younger and older students alike! My positivity, patience, and aptitude to make learning fun and interesting, no matter what the subject, has allowed me to reach out to all of my former and current students and engage them in their academic studies. For me, there is no greater joy than seeing a student's "light bulb" turn on. I hope I will have a chance to help you as well!
