My name is Ted and I am a tutor specializing in AP U.S. History and AP World History. My college major was in history (Honors Program), however, I have made my living for the past 20 years in software design and development. I have always been an enthusiastic amateur historian since graduating from college.
For those of you who need help with computer programming, I have been writing Objective-C (Apple's native iOS langauge) for the last 3 years. Additionally, if you are interested in video game programming, I have been working with cocos2d, which is an Objective-C based framework tailored for video games, for the last two years. I also work in the Unity3d and Corona environments.
In History, I have developed methodologies that are geared toward maximum comprehension of seemingly overwhelming amounts of material in a short period of time. The methods are geared toward developing "habits of the mind" as detailed by The College Board. If you are a visual learner, you might benefit from using the timelines, diagrams and tables that I have developed to help structure your thinking.
These methods have been incorporated into interactive apps for the iPad to help you work on identifying key cause-effect relationships, conflicting concepts, AP level quiz questions and an essay wizard.
My schedule is flexible. If you want to do computer programming work, it is probably best to do so in my home as I have a large desktop computer with all the proper environments setup.
