My native language is Arabic. I was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in the Middle East. I studied Law in Arabic at Cairo University, Egypt. I came to the United States immediately after, became a US citizen and went and studied law at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, IA. I taught Arabic in Iowa and worked as an RA to a professor there as an Arabic language research specialist. I have worked in multilingual call centers in the area here in DC, and I'm looking to go back to teaching, and eventually, hopefully, full time. I noticed a wealth of opportunities and ads here for Arabic language requests. If requested, I will also be glad to provide you with any translations that you need.
Government & Politics
Government and politics are two sides to the same coin. To understand the function of our government now and historically, we need to know the politics and policies behind the function of government. The premise of the government is to be a tool to act on behalf of its people; politics on the other hand is the wheel that drives the government. Politics make the process move and gives mechanism to otherwise what could end up as a rigid set of bureaucracy and routine.
My name is Jamil; I’m offering and am certified to offer languages, government and history lessons. My specialty is modern world history; I have two law degrees, first from Cairo Law School, and a master's from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. I look at history as an ongoing and interconnected chain of events and people. History is the address of any nation, and to understand it, we need to re-live it, and see it from eyes of those that made it. I look forward to hear from you and see and learn how I can support you.
