I am a PhD. chemist with more than 30 years of experience. I taught chemistry at Augsburg College, Anne Arundel Commnunity College, and Northern Virginia Community College. I tutored chemistry students at the US Naval Academy. I completed college courses in general physics, electronics, optics, and laser physics. I have active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance. I have a PhD & an MS in Analytical Chemistry from University of New Mexico and a BA in Chemistry from Augsburg College.

Chemistry

General chemistry provides the foundation for further study in chemistry and should provide an understanding of the value of chemistry to the informed citizen. Students often have to learn the meaning of terms and have difficulty with word problems. Sometimes math has to be learned along with the chemistry. I will use the student's textbook supplemented with material I can supply in the tutoring sessions.

Physics

Physics deals with electronics, optics, magnetism, gravity, motors, radio, television and various forms of work. Relativity, particle physics, and many more areas that are the basis for engineering are also included in physics. Physical Science provides the basic information in chemistry, physics, and engineering to students. I prefer to follow their textbook and provide useful explanations and assistance with homework problems and the approach to problems solving.
Often math skills are involved in the problem solving.

ACT Science covers all areas of science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, , Earth Science, Geology and Astronomy).

I will provide an overview of science and seek to determine which areas the individual student is having difficulty understanding and comprehending.
