For the past two years, I have been a teacher in a rural k-8 school. Being a rural school there were only two teachers, myself and my supervisor, one Title 1 aid, and a bus driver. I was in control of all subject and course material for grades 5, 6, 7,and 8. I prepared and presented each lesson for each grade in the following area: reading, writing, language arts, math, science, social studies, computers, social skills, basic Spanish and test preparation for the Montana MontCast test. I was also responsible for physical education and world cultures for all grades k-8. 1/3 of my students were on an IEP, so I have practice in individualizing, differentiation, and creative solution to provide results. Two of my students would be considered "gifted" so I have experience in making lessons challenging for them.
