I completed my undergraduate coursework at the University of Virginia, and my graduate coursework in education at the University of Mary Washington. I have an extensive background in all areas of biology with a focus on genetics and microbiology. I have experience in both laboratory settings and field research. During my time as a student at UVA, I also participated in mentoring and tutoring opportunities within the local community in Charlottesville, VA. I have completed all requirements for my Master of Education through Mary Washington and am waiting on my final internship placement in the Fall. My coursework at UMW includes: classroom technology, classroom management, lesson planning, and literacy integration. I am currently employed as a substitute teacher for Stafford County Public Schools, and I have a strong desire to be able to interact with students and apply my skills in biology as a tutor.
