I am interested in tutoring several subjects, which include--but are not limited to--Spanish 1, 2, and 3; medical terminology; English (grammar and proofreading); pre-algebra; algebra 1 and 2; American and world history; and psychology. In fact, I majored in psychology and have a criminal justice minor. I graduated high school with a 3.2 GPA and earned my bachelor's degree with honors. I also completed a year of post-graduate coursework before deciding to get a certificate in Electronic Medical Records Management, which I earned with highest honors in May 2012.
My experience as a tutor has been working with primarily older individuals; however, I am interested in tutoring individuals of all ages. My tutoring approach is to use several different methods of learning. For example, true/false, multiple choice, open-ended questions, having the student recite back to me, and having them put the information in their own words. Currently, I have tutored medical terminology 1 and remedial English.
My current position as a computer literacy instructor involves providing one-on-one computer assistance and teaching basic job-related computer literacy skills. Although there are lesson plans already created for us to use, I create supplemental instructional materials and have even redone some lesson plans.
