I am a retired engineer and IT professional currently taking advanced math courses "for the fun of it" and looking to share the fun and wonder of math with high school and junior college students and adults looking to refresh their skills. My particular strength is the practical application of math in modern life i.e. word problems. My goal is to tie the 'abstract' concepts of algebra and precalculus to everyday examples in simple engineering, economics, social studies, personal finance and even sports.

I will also tutor in U.S., Canadian, European and World History. I can cover not only the facts and dates necessary to pass the test but engage the student in a deeper discussion of why people and nations did what they did and how that informs our life and decisions today.
