My name is Mariana and I completed a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at the Catholic University of America. My undergraduate studies were completed at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University in Vocal Performance (Opera Emphasis) in May of 2006. I was born in Panama City, Panama and started to learn English at the age of 5. My elementary and secondary studies were completed in Panama City and I moved to the United States for my bachelors and masters degrees. I have a strong background in math and literature which was cultivated even stronger by my grandfather who was an award winning playwright. My passion has always been music and I started to sing and dance at the age of 7. I've worked with very young children since I completed 80 hours of community service at a foster home. For the past two years I have been teaching group music classes for children between the ages of six months and five with the assistance of their caregivers. I worked with adolescents and college students during my position as Resident Assistant while studying my Bachelors degree. I also tutored math, Spanish language, Italian, French and German Diction at Shenandoah University. For the past four years I've worked as an over the phone Spanish interpreter building even more my vocabulary in both English and Spanish. When teaching I believe in helping the student have the subject become second nature and fun. The better one enjoys something, the better one will succeed in it.
