I love to interact with students and see them grow in their efficacy and abilities to master and retain lesson material. I taught preschool for two years, and have been in a public school classroom as a teacher or substitute for over 4 years.

Reading is an important part of our everyday lives, so having an understanding of what one is reading is of paramount importance to all students. I endeavor to help all students overcome challenges they may encounter is the realm of reading and strive to help them develop a love of reading.

ESL/ESOL

As a certified elementary teacher, I strongly desire to see each child succeed and grow as an individual. I endeavor to use multiple teaching strategies to help each child learn in his or her best way. I especially have a tender spot for ESL/ESOL students who need to acquire knowledge of English to be able to be deemed successful in our educational system.

Geography

I have always had a love for learning about different countries and cultures, including where countries are located throughout the world. Geography is an important part of our everyday lives, so we need an understanding of how geography affects us. As a certified elementary teacher, I know the importance of learning a multitude of subjects with an emphasis toward making learning fun.

Grammar

Even since I was in elementary school, I have loved writing, reading, and spelling. Grammar is an important component to successful oral and written communication. I want to help students learn to recognize spelling patterns and hopefully ease any challenges they may face spelling in today's world.

Put simply, I love words. Ever since I was a child in elementary school I have loved to learn new words and find these new words in the materials I was reading. By having a good knowledge of synonyms and more formal English vocabulary, one can improve upon speaking and writing skills.
