I started to learn French when I was 18, in one of the most glorious universities of Iran, in Tehran. The first two years, I learned the language and then I concentrated on French literature. Two years later, I participated in the entrance examination for MA in French Literature and I was the first one admitted. I finished my masters with average rating of 17/20 and I was elected to receive the annual award from the embassy of France in Iran: a trip to France to participate in advanced training courses for one month. At the same time, I began my French teaching career. As a French teacher in a great language institute, I also gave private lessons to those who could not attend classes. Meanwhile, I was working on my Master's thesis, translating articles for two magazines and sometimes I was interpreter for French lectures in Iran. I even had the experience of working at "L'Ecole Francaise" (a school for children of diplomats speaking French) during their summer-course. I then participated in the doctoral entrance examination and I was one of three people admitted. So, I started teaching also in university during my studies. I got two internships in Paris, at Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris III) to prepare my doctoral thesis on "The Game of the Character In Raymond Queneau’s Novels." I supported this thesis in September 2010 with the note "very good." I also inaugurated the department of French in a private school where children learn French henceforth (next to English) as a foreign language. I have also participated in "training the trainer" courses, organized by CIEP in Caen (France) and supplementary courses organized by the “cultural department of the embassy of France” in Iran. These courses were intended for those who want to improve their skills in teaching the French language.
Persian or Farsi is an old language with a long history of literature, primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and countries which historically came under Persian influence.
I am originally from Iran, born in Tehran. I have had all my education in Iran (from primary school to high school diploma and then university (PhD)). Farsi is therefore my first language, and I know it better than any other language.
