Paul has been tutoring our 15-yr old (high school freshman) for the past three months. Our son's grades have improved and he has more confidence in his ability to do the work. This has also allowed him to spend less time on algebra, saving time for other studies, which have also shown improvement.

Paul is an excellent tutor. He comes to each lesson fully prepared to teach and work through problems. He is an engineer by training and profession, not a math teacher, but he uses his experience and problem solving skills to great effect. Paul's approach is to work through problems together and let our son figure out for himself how to solve problems. He will provide suggestions on how to approach a problem, often using examples from his engineering experience to illustrate the issue at hand. Our son has really responded well to this approach, it makes the lessons seem real for him, and Paul has a great way of explaining concepts in ways that can be grasped easily. Paul is also a musician, as is our son, so they are able to relate to one another on that level too.

Paul has been patient and encouraging. We are very impressed with his dedication to tutoring--he seems to love what he is doing and puts a great deal of effort into his work. We definitely will continue to have him tutor our son.
