I have a BBA in Computer Information Systems from Howard University (1982) and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Marist College (1991). I was a 1985 recipient of the Outstanding Young Men of America Award. I served professionally as a computer programmer for more than 20 years and am currently career changing into the medical field. I have also completed Pre-Med studies (2003) and I'm currently in the process of completing an official BS Biology degree focusing on molecular biology. My ultimate desire is to offer a potential contribution to the overall cure for cancer. I would also like to complete a Masters / PhD in molecular biology. I have passionately tutored math and science since 1984 and will continue to encourage students to be the absolute best that they can be.
I have had the wonderful privilege of tutoring math and science part time, at all levels, to students (K-12) since 1984. My experience enables me to quickly ascertain each student's best learning style (visual, audible, or a combination) and then teach accordingly. This quality is essential to facilitate the learning process as it is directly evidenced by each student's measurable progress and self-confidence. Many students also develop additional learning styles in this process. I also engage each student to become comfortable enough to present his or her topic of study to someone else. Some of my former students now teach others.
So, I am passionate with each student regarding his or her subject matter and encourage each one ultimately to consider passing on the knowledge to someone else thereby enhancing our global society.
