My name is Maggie and I am looking forward to helping you in a way that will make you feel comfortable in your subject and achieve the results you desire.
I am a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University with an honors degree in Political Science with a focus in Education Policy and Sociology. I graduated from the Alumni Laureate Scholars program which is an elite academic and leadership program at BGSU. I am also enrolled as a law student at Washington and Lee University and will begin my classes there in August of 2013.
I have experience as a tutor in Constitutional Law, music (trombone and voice), as well as all elementary courses. My greatest joy is writing and reading and also have experience as a proofreader and writing center attendant.
I enjoy meeting students where they are and working at a pace that is comfortable, yet challenging that will allow them to meet their goals.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you reach your potential.
My mother was an elementary school teacher and my senior year of high school I spent half the day each day working with students on math and reading skills. Math is an important stepping stone to being successful in any career so let me help you learn the basics in a fun, easy way.
As a child I took piano lessons at my mother's request and remember how hard it is to make a youngster love music. This is a passion that develops over time and I can honestly say I am grateful for the many hours my mother made me suffer through at the bench. I have been playing for over fifteen years and taking lessons for ten of those and a majority of my training is in classical music with some experience in score reading and pit accompanyment. I most enjoy working with beginning to intermediate students in developing groundwork skills and proficiency. I have played for and helped students prepare for Guild, Solo and Ensemble Contest and college auditions as well and look forward to sharing my love of music with others.
Working with elementary students in reading has always been a joy of mine. Spelling is a key component to being able to enjoy reading and writing. Let me make the phonics journey one you and your student will come to enjoy.
I have participated in theater productions for a majority of my life and have expertise to offer in various areas. I completed stage make up and design courses through summer programs at the Ohio State University through the Ohio State Extension Program. I have also completed various theater and performances classes at Bowling Green State University including character portrayal, voice, scene dialogue and history. Key performance roles include Yonah in Children of Eden, Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Kate Mullins in Titanic and other character roles and supporting roles.
