Elementary Math

My mother was an elementary school teacher and my senior year of high school I spent half the day each day working with students on math and reading skills. Math is an important stepping stone to being successful in any career so let me help you learn the basics in a fun, easy way.

As a child I took piano lessons at my mother's request and remember how hard it is to make a youngster love music. This is a passion that develops over time and I can honestly say I am grateful for the many hours my mother made me suffer through at the bench. I have been playing for over fifteen years and taking lessons for ten of those and a majority of my training is in classical music with some experience in score reading and pit accompanyment. I most enjoy working with beginning to intermediate students in developing groundwork skills and proficiency. I have played for and helped students prepare for Guild, Solo and Ensemble Contest and college auditions as well and look forward to sharing my love of music with others.

Social Studies

I have a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Bowling Green State University with an honors focus in public policy and education policy. Coursework included American Government, International Relations, American Politics, Western European Politics, African Politics, Asian Politics, Political Theory, Political Philosophy, American Presidency, Judicial Process, Legislative Process, American History, World History, Roman History and Culture and Constitutional Law. I also served as the head delegate for the 2012 Model United Nations Delegation for our university and a partner university. I enjoy exploring the concepts and practices of various governmental institutions and applying their experiences to current policy.

Working with elementary students in reading has always been a joy of mine. Spelling is a key component to being able to enjoy reading and writing. Let me make the phonics journey one you and your student will come to enjoy.

I have participated in theater productions for a majority of my life and have expertise to offer in various areas. I completed stage make up and design courses through summer programs at the Ohio State University through the Ohio State Extension Program. I have also completed various theater and performances classes at Bowling Green State University including character portrayal, voice, scene dialogue and history. Key performance roles include Yonah in Children of Eden, Jane Eyre in Jane Eyre, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Kate Mullins in Titanic and other character roles and supporting roles.
