To my prospective students:
I really enjoy working with people and teaching my knowledge to others. My hope is that you will learn the material and have fun doing so!
Mathematics has been a very important tool during my career. In addition to my on-the-job experience, I have a BA in Math from Princeton University, was an excellent math student in middle and high school, and have been a math mentor for public school students. Recent WyzAnt tutoring experience includes SAT math, prealgebra, and algebra, with particular emphasis on word problems.
I also help prepare potential servicemen and women for the ASVAB military entrance exam, so that the United States has the best possible people serving our country.
Last, but definitely not least, I have over 30 years of Information Technology experience. I teach Basic Computer for Beginners for Henrico County Adult Education. I was also a volunteer assistant for Henrico Public Library's computer classes. My skills include Internet, MS-Office, and Web Design.
My teaching style could be called “try-don’t-cry” – I’m from the “give a person a fish and they’ll eat for a day; teach them how to fish and they’ll eat for a lifetime” school of thought. I will show the student how to do something – then let the student try it out.
Thank you very much for your consideration!
