I am a very bubbly person with a passion for working with children. After obtaining my Bachelor's Degrees in English and Sociology at the College of William & Mary, I am now working towards my Master's Degree in Special Education (K-12) from Marymount University.

I have worked with children in and outside of the classroom. My direct teaching experience comes from my time spent as a tutor for local schools in the Williamsburg area and working as a substitute for Loudoun County Public Schools.

In addition to my time spent in the classroom I worked for three years as a sailing camp instructor for the Mathews YMCA. I have spent time volunteering with local girl scout troops and working as a nanny the summer after graduating from William & Mary.

I have worked with children of all ages and learning capacities. I strive to find learning tools and methods that are specific for each child, because we all learn in different ways. I believe that it is important to empower a student and explore their strengths as well as pinpointing areas that require more practice.

I am open to tutoring multiple subjects and would love the privilege to work with you and your child.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

I believe that I am qualified to help students with college counseling because it is something that I have tackled firsthand. I am familiar with the forms and tests needed to apply for college, as well as how to research schools and programs of interest.

Additionally, I was an Orientation Aid and Peer Adviser at the College of William & Mary. During this time I worked to help students choose classes, course loads, and activities relevant to their interests and majors.

Elementary (K-6th)

I tutored elementary school children in Williamsburg and James City County while attending the College of William & Mary. Additionally I worked as a substitute teacher for Loudoun County Public Schools for three years, helping to teach children in their instructor's absence. Additionally, I worked closely with elementary school children while volunteering with the Girl Scouts of America and leading the Mathews YMCA Sailing Camp for three years.

Study Skills

I believe that I am qualified to tutor students in study skills for a number of reasons. I worked with children during college who attended local schools, often times helping them prepare for upcoming quizzes and tests. In addition, I have had a lot of test taking experience as I have finished my undergraduate schooling and am beginning graduate school. Some of the tactics I use when studying or helping others are making outlines and study guides, defining key terms, practice tests, and making flashcards.
