I have taught Latin at all levels to high school students in Massachusetts and Virginia. We covered everything from vocabulary to grammar - oh that 'dreaded' passive voice - to reading and translating. We read both prose and poetry - from Livy to Cicero to Catullus, Horace, and best of all Vergil. My goal is to make students comfortable with all the nuances of learning a foreign language, even an ancient one. A great part of this is to make connections between the ancient and modern worlds.
After retiring from full time teaching I tutored several students in levels 2, 3, 5AP. I also worked with my niece who was home schooled in Latin Two. I am flexible time wise, and have tutored both at my home, the student's home, and even Starbucks.
