Hi Everybody,

My name is Gowri, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!

I majored in Mathematics and Science and I have worked over 15 years as a tutor for the Academic Advancement for kids As part of my work, I tutor students in Math (Algebra 1, pre-Algebra, competitive math and general Math).

I have experience with students of all ages, including mentoring and improving study skills.

In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and concrete experiences in addition to worksheets. However, my specific methods vary according to the needs of the student being taught and the learning style of the student. My specialty is one-on-one subject tutoring, but I have also worked with small groups ranging from 2-3 students to large lecture classes of 20+ students. I have experience working with students of many ages, from sixth graders studying algebra, to grade 3. My favorite subjects to tutor is mathematics (at any elementary school level). If you're in doubt as to whether I teach a certain math topic in specific, just ask!
