David L. began his musical career as a chorister at Liverpool Cathedral, England. During that time he gained a wonderful choral education, participating in services for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, HRH Princess Diana and Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and John Major. David also toured Spain and Japan alongside Paul McCartney performing McCartney’s ‘Liverpool Oratorio’. While still a teenager he became organist for a number of churches in Liverpool and its surrounding area. At age sixteen he was appointed as Organ Scholar at Liverpool Cathedral under the tutelage of the world-renowned Professor Ian Tracey, and in this capacity he accompanied and conducted services and assisted in the training of probationer choristers. In 1997 he followed in the footsteps of Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Herbert Howells, and was awarded a scholarship at the Royal College of Music in London, England, before returning to Liverpool to study for a bachelor of honours degree in Music and Information Technology. Since August 2003, David has been the Director of Music at Fairfax United Methodist Church, Virginia and at Millian Memorial United Methodist Church, Rockville, Maryland. During his time in the USA he has worked with George Mason University and demonstrated his excellent repertoire by performing recitals at the White House, the Blair House and Washington’s National Cathedral.
