My name is Thomas and I am a composer, arranger, and musician. I have been writing and arranging music for over five years and have done it both on the professional and amateur levels. I have received commissions from universities, churches, and others, including a myriad of student films and video games, and even a commission from the Manassas Police Department in northern Virginia. My works range from large-scale orchestral symphonies to small solo works for various instruments. I am well versed in classical, jazz, and rock idioms and am thoroughly familiar with the theory and practices behind each style.
Aside from composition, my remaining musical experience comes from performance. I am a saxophone and piano player and have participated in most imaginable ensembles from concert, jazz, and marching bands to symphony orchestras. My knowledge of orchestration, theory, and instruments extends even beyond these spheres and includes knowledge on how to play various instruments as well as their history. My knowledge of music also extends beyond western music and into various world and ethnic musics.
I hope to extend my knowledge to other future musicians and help guide them towards understanding music on an intellectual level that will allow them to fully understand what they are creating and how they are creating it.
