I am a recent graduate from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. I earned my B.S. in mathematics with a concentration in actuarial science and minors in economics and data analysis. While I typically excel in all areas of mathematics, I have a particular penchant for statistics. I earned a score of 5 on both AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics my junior year of high school. My coursework at GMU included the standard four semester calculus sequence, two semesters of linear algebra, SAS, both deterministic and stochastic operations research, probability theory, advanced statistics, sampling methods, financial mathematics, actuarial mathematics, regression and analysis, macro and microeconomics, and many others.
While my particular expertise is AP and elementary statistics, I have previously tutored students from algebra I part I through BC calculus/calc 2. My most successful students have improved their overall grade in their class ~50% (i.e., their grade is 50 points higher than it was previously overall).
I cater every lesson to each students' needs. Typically, during our first meeting, we'll establish what those needs are then determine what strategies will work best for your unique case. In the past, I've built specific resources, tools, and worksheets for each of my students. My teaching is highly individualized, and I do my very best to serve each and every student- your success is my success! Nothing makes me more happy than seeing my students improve and grow.
I tutor part-time, and am available in the evenings and on Saturdays. I can travel to anywhere on the subway and am more than happy to meet at a library or coffee shop. I look forward to working with you or your child!
